Michael Was Thrilled To Graduate From High School and Go To College
Michael told 20/20 that he was thrilled to graduate from high school: “It was unbelievable, just to walk across the stage and shake the president’s hand. I was the first one out of anybody that I ever knew to graduate, so it was a great experience.” He chose to attend Ole Miss because it was nearby the Tuohy’s home. He later explained: “I figured it would be easier for my family, you know, my friends to get down to Oxford to come see me play.” Michael received more than 1,000 letters from recruiters to attend their schools.
